Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

Gannett-Fleming TranSystems is in search of a Civil Engineer with site-civil and related background to identify, develop, and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of clients and lead the Clearwater Office.  The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial attitude, the ability to create a vision for growth in their practice area; which will include local municipalities, architects and developer clients.  This person will contribute to the overall growth of the Clearwater Office and will lead the group’s efforts including managing relationships with key clients, providing mentorship, and developing staff.

This position will be responsible for leadership of the Clearwater Office staff, providing design, project management and task management leadership to the team; managing project financials and production teams; and mentoring project managers and young professionals.

 

The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the office and the practices of their team. 

 

Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):


  • Assist with determining marketing direction and developing marketing and business development plans.

  • Identifies and manages key clients and is responsible for maintaining contact and developing business with key clients.

  • Assists with other key clients by providing feedback into effective marketing strategy and mentoring staff on business development.

  • Establishes, promotes, and assists with quality on all projects and work performed by staff.

  • Assists with development of fee and scope proposals for projects.

  • Monitors project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

  • Performs technical and coordination checking of project documents.

  • Follows up on construction issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns.

  • Helps mentor staff within the office.

  • Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

 

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Registered professional engineer.

  • At least 15 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.

  • Must be highly detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks as assigne.d

  • Must be able to work as a team.

  • Must be able to work well under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Work Environment:


  • Work in indoor office environment 95% of the time, some field visits may be required

  • Moderate noise level

  • Travel via automobile on 5% locally as needed

  • Talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 10-25 pounds occasionally
