Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will perform routine tasks using well defined standards and procedures under close supervision.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop catalog of vendor data on material handling conveyor equipment for engineer reference use
· Perform material takeoffs from 3D models, design drawings or client drawings
· Perform basic belt conveyor horsepower calculations
· Participate in weekly team planning and project meetings
· Attend client conference calls and meetings
· Organize digital drawing libraries for existing clients
· Accompany engineering staff on local client site visits to develop project Scopes of Work
· Prepare spreadsheets, documentation as needed
· Work under the supervision of an experienced Mechanical Engineer
· Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
· Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship;
· HS Diploma or Equivalent required;
· Enrollment in a four (4) year baccalaureate Mechanical Engineering or similar program at an accredited college or university required;
· Expected graduation between December 2025 and May 2027;
· Candidate must provide a resume as well as college or university transcripts.
Working Conditions:
· Work is primarily conducted in an office environment and may also allow for occasional travel to off-site work locations accompanied by senior staff.
· Field duties may require indoor and outdoor work in a terminal, plant, or other industrial setting, around production machinery with extreme noise levels where personal protection equipment is required;
· Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
· Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;

· Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20) pounds;
· Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits employee to communicate effectively;
· Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
· Sufficient vision or other powers of observation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
· Sufficient manual dexterity which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;
· Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-site locations.
