Job Summary
As a Data Services Manager, you will spearhead the management and optimization of our data architecture, focusing on driving data quality, governance, and seamless integration across the organization. This critical role involves overseeing the daily operations of a talented team of data professionals, ensuring that our data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals. You will also play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and embracing new technologies to keep our data services at the cutting edge. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to prioritize and deliver impactful data projects, while also maintaining the integrity and security of our data assets. Your hands-on experience with cloud-based solutions, Azure, databases, and data warehouse will be essential in guiding the team and ensuring that our data practices meet the highest standards. To excel in this role, you should be a strategic thinker with a passion for leading teams, coupled with the technical acumen to drive data initiatives that support our company' s growth and success. Your dedication to innovation and continuous improvement will ensure that our data services remain at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Continuously assess and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies, keeping the data architecture modern and aligned with evolving business goals.
2. Ensure the optimal performance and configuration of data systems, enhancing efficiency, accessibility, and security across the organization's data assets.
3. Guide the design and implementation of data quality processes and governance frameworks, including enforcing compliance with Data & Information Governance Council policies, and actively participate in the Data Center of Excellence to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all platforms
4. Lead and mentor the data team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement in data practices. Focus on developing and upskilling the team, equipping them tools and methodologies to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving data landscape.
5. Lead and oversee the development and optimization of the organization's data architecture, ensuring robust, scalable frameworks that support our data management and integration needs.
6. Lead process improvement initiatives for the team, continuously evaluating and refining workflows in alignment with Kanban guidelines to enhance agility and increase the throughput of work.
7. Manage and direct the daily operations of the data team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data solutions that align with business priorities and operational requirements.
8. Manage and maintain a robust documentation process, ensuring transparency in data flows and supporting organizational self-service capabilities in data discovery.
9. Oversee the development and maintenance of data integrations and data warehouse, ensuring seamless and secure data flows across systems to support business operations.
10. Provide comprehensive documentation for data architecture, integrations, and governance practices, ensuring clarity and consistency in data handling and usage.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. 3+ years of experience with Azure, particularly in managing data services and cloud-based data solutions.
2. 4+ years of experience with SOL, including proficiency in database management.
3. 5+ years of experience in data management roles, including hands-on experience with data architecture, governance, and database management.
4. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining focus on delivering high-quality data solutions.
5. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 7+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates proficiency in data management and leadership.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Experience with data integration tools, Azure Data Factory, data governance frameworks, Azure DevOps, and cloud-based data management solutions.
8. Extensive experience with Agile methodologies or Kanban practices, with a strong focus on workflow management and process improvement, overseeing data projects from initiation to completion while ensuring they align with business objectives.
9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
10. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to lead data teams and deliver projects in a fast-paced environment.
