Job Description:

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.


Air import specialist will be responsible for coordinating, airlines, and clients the status of the handling of the flights and the arrival of the shipments, offering a quality service with both the Suppliers and customers.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




  • Track the arrivals of cargo via web, with JAS origin and warehouses / warehouse.

  • Coordinate transfer of cargo from airline to JAS Warehouse.

  • Transmit necessary payments to airlines for cargo release

  • Dispatch trucking carriers to pick up cargo and coordinate appropriate equipment to do so based on cargo dimensions/ needs.

  • Report missing documents / packages to customer service, origin and customer.

  • Create Bonds for applicable shipments.

  • Generate the notice of arrival of the cargo.

  • Generate the invoice for freight and handling of the operation as soon as the cargo arrives.

  • Generate claim letters for damaged/missing cargo to the airlines in the established times.

  • Comply with customs transmissions at the time regulated by customs.

  • Daily tracking of all pending flights, reporting delays or other

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience handling Air Import shipments or a combination of education and expertise required.

  • Cargowise (C1) experience is a plus.

  • Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.

  • Able to perform the essential duties of this position without posing a "direct threat" to the health or safety of self or others.

  • Able to interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience handling Air Import shipments or a combination of education and expertise required.

  • Cargowise (C1) experience is a plus.

  • Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.

  • Additional languages are a plus.

  • Geographical knowledge is preferred.




ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to__ %) required in support of the position's responsibilities.
