Position Overview:
As the LeadData Architecture & Advanced Analytics, you will be responsible for leading a team that ensures the quality, security, and compliance of the organization's data assets. In this role, you will facilitate data access and usage for various stakeholders across the organization. Key responsibilities include overseeing data lifecycle management, metadata management, data quality monitoring, and data lineage tracking.
This position is based in-office at our Downtown Houston headquarters and reports directly to the Director of Data Strategy & Management (Chief Data Officer). You will play a critical role within the Data Strategy & Management Team, ensuring data governance and advanced analytics initiatives align with business goals.
Responsibilities:
Specific job duties or deliverables that the position requires which will also measure performance:
Establish, develop and lead a team which will aide in the definition of Data Governance and ensure understanding and compliance of requirements defined.
Analyze and profile data sources to identify data quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and maintain data quality rules, metrics, and dashboards to monitor and report on data quality performance.
Define and create Data Operating Model while collaborating with data owners, stewards, and users to define and document data definitions, business rules, data lineage, and data quality requirements.
Design and support the implementation and maintenance of data governance tools and platforms to enable data quality management and data governance processes.
Participate in data governance initiatives and projects to ensure alignment with data quality and governance objectives and standards.
Provide data quality and governance training and guidance to data stakeholders and users.
Schedule and coordination of meetings with governing groups.
Other duties as assigned related to data architecture and management.
Experience and Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, or related field.
At least 7 years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or data governance roles.
At least one of the following Data Architect or Engineer certifications (e.g., Google, Microsoft Azure, AWS, certified data engineer, DASCA, DGSP, CDP, CDS, IGP, etc. )
Proficient in SQL and data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
Proficient in AI/ML technologies and risks associated with data.
Familiar with data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g. DMBOK, ADM).
Knowledge of data quality and governance tools and platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, BigID, Purview, etc.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience leveraging APIs and scripting for integration and automation
Able to effectively draft governance documentation and manage assigned initiatives
Experience in Microsoft Suite products i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
