Position Purpose:
Responsible for all manufacturing operations to assure on safety, quality, on-time delivery, lead times, manufacturing costs, and housekeeping. Serves on the Plant Manager's staff to assist in the management of the overall growth and viability of the business.
Essential Functions:
• Supervise production supervisors to ensure plant operational targets are met (Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, & Productivity) and that plant policies are being followed in a firm and consistent manner. Responsible for conducting and monitoring disciplinary actions and performance goals for employees including providing training and cross training to employees.
• Manage and implement process improvements for productivity, quality and safety through Kaizen and VSM events. Manage the production MOS process ensuring continuous improvement by developing proper reasonable expectations (RE's) for each job and working with the teams to reduce lost time.
• Participate in production planning in the areas of plan attainment, days on hand and delivery. Plan, organize, and develop company resources to meet efficiency and productivity goals and objectives for on-time shipment of product to customer.
• Responsible for MOS boards and tracking of work center efficiency and productivity.
• Work with Maintenance to develop, enforce and consistently improve TPM program.
• Responsible for development / assisting of operational targets, cost reductions, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), budgets and capital plans. Ensure that all established company quality standards are adhered to, and that substandard product does not reach the customer.
• Relationship building with internal and external customers
Education and Training
Minimum Qualifications
Number of years required: 5 or more years in manufacturing environment
Industry Experience: Manufacturing and machining experience, assembly environment, and direct manufacturing supervision leadership. Demonstrated skill in assisting the HR function.
Previous job experience: Experience with concepts such as KANBAN, MRPII, Constraint Management and Total Predictive Maintenance, knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations, should be able to design and carry out safety programs, including training, skilled in assisting the HR function. Experience with QAD a plus
