Join the Mizuho team as the Corporate Architecture Lead!
In this role you will oversee architecture for Corporate Services, collaborating with product management and engineering to maintain a technology roadmap that supports continuous transformation and adheres to EA standards and governance. You will guide engineering to achieve transformation objectives while fostering innovation and risk-managed architectures that meet long-term goals.
Responsibilities
Partner with product management, EA, security, and infrastructure to maintain the technology roadmap in alignment with business and IT objectives.
Guide engineering through complex architectural decisions for applications and services built on platforms such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Archer, MuleSoft, etc.
Guide platform modernization and automation efforts, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.
Establish and oversee EA-based governance processes, standards, and conventions to optimizing value and minimize architectural debt.
Develop and enforce domain-specific architecture standards & conventions and ensure cross-functional compliance.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, while evaluating and mitigating risks to balance innovation with secure, resilient design principles.
Establish risk frameworks that proactively address security, compliance, and operational risks.
Lead efforts to identify emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact and role within the organization's platform landscape.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging experimentation with new tools, processes, and design patterns to enhance agility and responsiveness.
Establish a culture of learning and adaptation, supporting the organization's ability to adopt competitive, future-oriented solutions.
Build and maintain a diverse, skilled, and motivated team fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
12+ years of experience in technology architecture roles, with a focus on platform and enterprise architecture in regulated environments.
Demonstrated expertise in enterprise platform architecture, cloud-native solutions (Azure preferred), and digital transformation initiatives.
Strong knowledge of tools and platforms such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Archer, MuleSoft Anypoint, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Terraform, and Vault.
Proven ability to lead organizational transformation by aligning IT strategy with business objectives and fostering innovation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate in complex, matrixed organizations.
Relevant certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) are preferred.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Azure cloud architecture and services.
Hands-on experience with GenAI products such as Office Copilot, GitHub Copilot, etc.
Knowledge of DevOps/GitOps practices with CI/CD platforms like GitHub, GitLab, Terraform, Backstage, etc. in a highly regulated enterprise.
Exposure to data warehouse, data lake, or data mesh architectures, products, and patterns.
Familiarity with banking industry governance, risk management, and compliance practices.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.) and/or IT Service Management (e.g., ITIL).

The expected base salary ranges from $160k-$225k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
