Job Description:

The Data Enterprise Architect is a senior-level role responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture framework within the organization. This role involves aligning the data strategy with business objectives, ensuring data integrity, and enabling seamless data integration across various systems. The data enterprise architect collaborates with stakeholders to define data models, establish data governance practices, and ensures the scalability and security of the data infrastructure.


** This position is eligible to work hybrid (9 or more days a month onsite) in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

Compensation




$127,000 - $145,000



Exempt grade IT&S 18




  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive salaries that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.




What you'll do



  • Design and implement robust data architecture solutions that align with business objectives and data governance policies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into architectural requirements.

  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata standards.

  • Establish and enforce data governance practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Lead the integration of data from various sources, including cloud and on-premises systems.

  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data management and analytics.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering and analytics teams.

  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive in data management practices.

  • Document architectural designs, processes, and data flows for clarity and compliance.




What you need



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field preferred.

  • 5 years experience in IT architecture, with at least 3 years focused on data architecture, data modeling or related fields.




Bonus if you have



  • Relevant certifications in data architecture or related fields (i.e., TOGAF, DMA-DMBOK) preferred



  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (i.e., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (i.e., Hadoop, Spark) preferred
