JOB SUMMARY:The adjunct applied instructor will perform responsibilities up to 6 credit hours each semester. Responsibilities would include teaching weekly private lessons to music majors and minors who are vocalist or instrumentalist from one of the following areas: brass, woodwind, strings, and percussion. In addition, the adjunct instructor may be asked to help plan and facilitate weekly group sessions for all students within their studio or area.
The adjunct instructor reports to the Chair of the music department and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences and is responsible for supporting and advancing the mission and goals of the university, college, and department in all academic, scholarly and student support activities.

A master's degree in music education or performance with 18 graduate-level hours related to the applied instrument.
D.M.A in performance on the applied instrument or an equivalent terminal music or music education degree preferred.

Two years of studio instruction, applied instruction at the secondary level, and/or applied instruction as the post-secondary level.
