The Autonomous Vehicles (AV) team is searching for an expert and highly motivated Technical Product Manager to build the future of NVIDIA's self-driving software, enabling features ranging from driver assistance all the way to true hands-off, mind-off autonomous driving. An autonomous vehicle's capability to drive itself safely is directly related to that system's understanding of the world around it and how that World Model matters within the driving context.
In this role, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a variety of novel, innovative capabilities to generate this comprehensive World Model. You will be responsible for features and technology covering: sensor and modality fusion, road and lane understanding, driving rule understanding, obstacle understanding, and more. Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring that the self-driving system knows everything it needs to know in order to drive safely through the world - a critical part of delivering a phenomenal product for our customers.
What you'll be doing:
Work collaboratively with other technical product managers and technical leads to understand the sophisticated self-driving problems we are solving, and to break down these problems into a solution with prioritized requirements.
Interact directly with engineering teams to convert those requirements into industry-competitive roadmaps enabling our entire system to achieve end to end goals.
Define and drive appropriate metrics and quality indicators for these capabilities and have a deep, hands-on understanding of quality for the areas you are responsible for.
Coordinate and collaborate with partner teams and internal customers to resolve bottlenecks, address issues, and keep workstreams moving.
Develop a deep technical understanding of the entire stack to proactively identify areas of improvement and investment
What we need to see:
Driven leader with strong skills in influencing, communication, presenting, consensus and multi-functional team building across time zones
Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or related projects which involved heavily matrixed complex systems and information fusion
Creative problem solver who can handle ambiguous situations, reach consensus, and make decisions
Technical ability to think creatively to resolve development issues and constraints
Experience bringing new sophisticated and innovative products and technologies into reality
8+ years of recent Product or Program Management experience
BS/MS Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Relevant domain knowledge/experience (Autonomous Driving, Robotics, Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, Online Mapping, or similar fields)
Experience in a fast-paced AI company or Autonomous Vehicle company
Proven technical background in a related field, such as experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, or similar
Showing you always strive to learn new things, are motivated to solve hard problems, and that you care about the end product
