The Hershey Company Hazleton plant is a Union plant producing products such as Cadbury, Milk Bars, Almond Bars, Extra Dark Bars, Caramel Bars, Candy Coated Eggs, and Kit Kat, in a high-speed complex environment. Under direction of the Sr. Sanitation Specialist, the Sanitation Team Leader's primary role is to oversee the sanitation, processes, and sanitation employees with the facility while completing routine sanitation tasks as outlined below.

Shift:
Our current need is on COS (Continuous Operations Schedule) nights from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
We require that you are flexible to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
New hire will train on 1st shift for 30-60 days before transitioning to assigned work schedule.
Candidate Process:
Qualified applicants will complete a 60-minute onsite interview followed by a 20-minute tour of facility.
Post-Offer Drug Screen and Background Check required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working lead who provides direction to and works along with sanitation staff.
Ensure that personnel have proper qualifications, are properly trained, and motivated to work productively both as part of a team and individually.
Support with coordinating and administering daily interaction between the assigned area of responsibility and all other departments in the plant. This would include peers across shifts.
Responsible for maintaining all Sanitation records; turning them into the sanitation specialist at end of month.
Provide support with ensuring CAPA (corrective and preventive actions) process for sanitation, and hygienic design improvement plans are followed.
Communicate appropriate information to peers by utilizing informal and formal communications.
Support operational initiatives through Lean Manufacturing's Rapid Change Over methods impacting sanitation and HD.
Ensure that necessary tools, supplies, and equipment are available to perform sanitation tasks effectively.
Ensure the CAPA (corrective and preventive actions) process for sanitation, pest management, and hygienic design improvement plans are followed.
Lead training of new sanitation team members on shift.
Provide leadership to production personnel to complete production line and facility sanitation as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule including outside grounds.
Lead and support cleaning verification and validation programs to prove effectiveness of the sanitation program.
Support allergen cleaning and control measures within the facility
Ensure appropriate staffing for support of line cleaning and routine cleaning by partnering with labor scheduling
Working in partnership with vendors and support sanitation team with general maintenance, troubleshooting and operating equipment listed below:
Floor Scrubber - replacing brushes and motors as needed
Steamer & Attachments - switch out attachments and drain lines as needed
Cold Jet (ice blaster) - Handling dry ice, working with blades, connecting hoses, etc…
Hand Sprayers/Foamers - For use when cleaning process drains. Wear chemical PPE ( face shield, googles, apron, booties and chemical gloves) as needed.
55-Gallon Shop Vacuum - Hook up attachments and clean all parts as needed
Responsible for informing Sanitation Specialist when any equipment is not functioning and provide details of problem with equipment and work with service repair contractor while onsite to complete repairs.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be flexible to work all shifts. To be placed on a 12-hour continuous operations schedule
Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
Must be authorized to work in the United States
A minimum of 3 years of experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing environment is required.
Required Skills/Competencies:
Ensure compliance with established standards and procedures involving safety, sanitation, good manufacturing policies, housekeeping, EMMP (Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring Plan), and other plant programs. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
Knowledge in Sanitation, Hygienic Design, Pest Control, HACCP, Microbiology, Chemical Safety, and Quality Systems.
Knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards and the certification process
Knowledge of OHSA, FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations
Auditing and problem-solving skills.
Communication with cross-functional teams
Training skills
Computer skills: Microsoft office, SAP
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Preferred Skills/Competencies:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring is preferred
