Assistant Actuarial Analyst - Annuity Pricing
Group1001 is looking for a recent or soon-to-be college graduate to join us an Assistant Actuarial Analyst in our Zionsville, IN office.
This position will report to a Director on the Annuity Pricing team.
Main Accountabilities
• Build, maintain and enhance actuarial models and processes for various purposes (e.g. pricing, rate setting, cash flow testing, asset-liability management, reserve valuation, corporate planning, experience studies) in support of pricing, corporate objectives, regulatory needs, and product management.
• Produce, summarize, analyze and communicate results. Provide peer review as requested.
• Design, test, and review model enhancements in support of new product features, new or updated product assumptions, new model versions and techniques, and/or other business requirements.
• Continually improve processes related to data quality and model efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure adequate governance and documentation of actuarial processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional individuals throughout the organization to optimize results. This is expected to include in-person work in our home office on a hybrid basis.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• Continue progress towards FSA designation offered by Society of Actuaries through company supported Actuarial Student Program.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, math, statistics, physics, engineering or related field.
• At least one Society of Actuaries actuarial exam passed.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication (oral/written), time management, project management, and solution finding skills
• Exposure to financial modeling preferred
• Proficiency in Excel (including VBA) and exposure to database and visualization tools (Microsoft Access, SQL, Power BI, etc.)
• Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.
• Willingness to work slices of unusual hours to expedite work.
