Description
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist Dr. Yefan Nian on a Hatch project focused on examining the sustainability and resilience of specialty crop value chains in response to emerging risks and promoting healthy food consumption in the U.S. The associate will conduct consumer and producer surveys and analyze secondary data to assess the sustainability and resilience of food systems. Funding for this position is provided by the Clemson Experiment Station.Job Duties:1. Develop and administer surveys to study consumer and producer behaviors, particularly in relation to mitigating supply chain risks.2. Analyze secondary data to evaluate the sustainability and resilience of food systems3. Collect, evaluate, and interpret data; prepare oral presentations and peer-reviewed publications.4. Assist in supervising team members involved in experiments and data collection related to the research.5. Attend research group meetings and events, fostering teamwork and collaboration.6. Perform other duties as required related to the scope of the project, such as assisting with grant proposal preparation.
Qualifications
1. A doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics or a related field, completed by the start date.2. Strong theoretical and empirical research skills, particularly in survey development and applied econometrics.3. Proven ability to write scientific papers and technical reports.
