Job Summary:
A well-established Real Estate Property Management office in Boston Seaport seeks an experienced, full-time Property Bookkeeper to assist the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for real estate property accounting and a solid background in Yardi software. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5+ years of property accounting experience looking to contribute to a stable, boutique company.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately record daily business transactions and maintain consistency and timeliness.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage deposits.
Manage data entry, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), and general ledger (G/L).
Assist with collections, adjusting entries as directed by accountants.
Maintain manual and digital filing systems.
Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.
Assist with quarterly and annual CAM, tax, and insurance reimbursement analysis for tenants.
Support contract management and general office management duties related to accounting.
Perform lease abstracting and assist in preparing budgets, financial statements, and reports.
Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of Yardi's features, including budgeting and work orders (W/O), to improve operational efficiency.
Additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in property accounting, ideally in a professional office environment.
Proficiency in Yardi Real Estate Software is required. Active working knowledge is preferred.
Some experience with QuickBooks is required.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and real estate property management functions.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team to meet deadlines.
Skills:
Yardi Real Estate Software expertise, including configuration and feature expansion.
Proficiency with QuickBooks for select tasks.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Experience with A/R, A/P, G/L, bank reconciliations, and vendor management.
Ability to assist with budgets, financial statements, and various accounting projects.
