Ledgent Finance and Accounting is actively seeking an Accounting Manager in Newburyport, MA. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience and will have a background in cost accounting and inventory management.

Pay: $130,000-$140,000

Premise:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring all accounting activities are conducted in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities:
Managing of AP and AR department and ensuring timely completion of work (serve as backup, as needed)
Responsible for inventory accounting and make recommendations on automated accounting solutions
Manage credit/credit process
Manages the company-wide inventory accounting process, including supporting plant locations with inventory / costing issues, and advising on proper procedures.
Supports all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including detailed account reconciliations for assigned functions.
Analyze balance sheets monthly
Assists the controller in the management of quarter-end and year-end audits performed by a 3rd party public accounting firm, ensuring favorable and timely completions.
Supports the preparation of all periodic tax and statutory filings
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field)
5+ years of accounting and management experience
Manufacturing industry and inventory / cost accounting experience required.
Strong Excel skills required.
Accounting ERP software experience
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a level-headed demeanor.
