Job Description
The nurse will provide critical care nursing support to ICU patients during weekend overnight shifts. The Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for and must have working knowledge of constant rate infusions/calculations, pain management, oxygen therapy, sampling lines, TPN administration, arterial blood gases, CPR, EKG/BP monitoring, electrolyte interpretation, blood transfusions and urinary catheter placement.
Qualifications
Must be a CVT/RVT/LVT. VTS is preferred but not required. Must also have strong organizational skills, strong patient assessment skills, a calm demeanor during emergencies and strong interpersonal skills.
Veterinary Technician B: Must have 2+ years of experience in critical care and be certified or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Veterinary Technician C: Must have 3+ years of experience in critical care and be certified or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
We are hiring at all levels for this position. $20.00/hour is the minimum starting salary for an entry-level position. Minimum starting salaries increase with each level. Relevant education, experience, skills, and licenses/ certifications are among the factors considered in salary offers.
This is a 36-hour shift 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This shift qualifies for a 30% shift differential. Mid shift, overnight and weekend shifts are all available.
