About the Job



The Director of Market Access Training plays a key leadership role in designing and executing the comprehensive training and development strategy for Sanofi's Specialty Care and US Shared Services Market Access teams. This position is responsible for ensuring that all Market Access teams are fully prepared for both current and future challenges through tailored training programs.


The Director will lead the implementation of innovative training methods that align with the company's business goals and market dynamics.

Main Responsibilities:



Strategic Planning and Leadership


  • Lead the design and execution of a robust Market Access training strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and collaboration across Specialty Care Market Access (SCMA) leadership.


  • Partner with Market Access Leadership to drive a culture of continuous learning, aligning training initiatives with critical business goals, including launch readiness, product knowledge, channel expertise, payer marketing, and market access execution.


  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on training needs based on data and business performance metrics.




Training Program Development


  • Develop and continuously refine training curricula for SCMA teams, focusing on core competencies such as payer interactions, distribution expertise, and pull-through execution.


  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of new hire onboarding programs, as well as advanced learning tracks for tenured employees, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term strategic goals.


  • Drive the Market Access Growth & Development Program (e.g., Mentor/Preceptor program), promoting career development within the Market Access function.




Team Leadership and Collaboration


  • Ensure collaboration with Value & Access partners to keep training programs relevant and aligned with therapeutic area strategies.


  • Work closely with the Commercial Training team to integrate Market Access priorities into broader training initiatives.




Measurement, Feedback, and Compliance


  • Establish and manage KPIs for training programs, continuously monitoring effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.


  • Ensure all training content adheres to legal, regulatory, and compliance standards, with ongoing updates to maintain relevance in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.


  • Provide actionable feedback to leadership teams based on the success of training programs, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.




Payer and Product Expertise


  • Lead the development of advanced training modules, including deep dives into disease states, product portfolios, and payer dynamics (e.g., specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill models).


  • Ensure all SCMA teams are fully equipped with the skills and knowledge to effectively interact with payer institutions and manage complex product landscapes, including infusible and biologic products.





About You




Qualifications:



  • Education: BA/BS required (life sciences or business preferred); MBA a plus.





Experience:



  • 7+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with substantial experience in Market Access, specialty pharmaceuticals, biologics, and product launches.


  • 2+ years of leadership in training and development.


  • Expertise in virtual training platforms, in-person workshops, and multi-channel learning approaches.


  • Proven track record in managing multiple complex projects, budgets, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.


  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across sales, marketing, and business operations.





Role Requirements:



  • National travel: 25-35%


  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage and motivate teams in both virtual and live settings.


  • Advanced proficiency in developing training programs for diverse, cross-functional teams.
