Information Technology Specialist


Title: Technology Specialist - BiAmp and Centrak Reports To: Regional Manager

Primary Role:

The Technology Specialist will have emphasis on the installation and support of BiAmp Vocia and Centrak (RTLS and Security) systems. This will include hardware, software, and programming. The position requires a self-managed schedule to provide direct support for internal and external customers.



Responsibilities on Assigned Projects:

1. Install, configure, and maintain applications for patient care server systems (RTLS, Vocia) provided by SWC in coordination with customers.
2. Work with ITS to plan, coordinate, and implement various network components and overall systems for products provided to customers.
3. Reviews and adheres to manufacturer recommendations for deployment and support practices. As needed, collaborates with management and ITS Leads for updates of SWC standards to align with industry and manufacturer-recommended best practices.
4. Maintains the related project documentation across all assigned system project deployments and reports regular status updates to project manager on assigned projects.
5. Works with assigned project resources to successfully achieve project goals while meeting deadlines for system implementation.
6. Performs hardware configuration and downloads for networked system deployments (nurse-call, RTLS, Vocia).



Systems Support Responsibilities:

1. Initial escalation for the local branch to remotely analyze and resolve configuration, network and software issues using troubleshooting techniques for various SWC provided networked systems and applications.
2. Provide technical support for technicians.
3. Maintain system documentation on deployments of SWC provided networked systems and applications.



Other Responsibilities:

1. Provide sales and engineering with support, including solution review and design, as well as interfacing directly with customer technical staff for discovery and documentation follow-up.
2. Abides by and enforces security policies consistent with SWC and customer standards.
3. Comply with all SWC and customer policies, including health and safety matters.
4. Other duties as required or assigned.


Accountability:

The System Specialist will be accountable to the Regional Manager for task completion on assigned projects and support tickets and to the Director of Technical Services for adherence to processes and implementation standards. Secondary accountability will be to the other executive and management team members as well as customers of the company.


Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient care systems software & network deployment/support. Emphasis on certifications and knowledge of specific systems: Responder 5, R5K, Centrak, and Vocia.


Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:

1. Goal-oriented and driven to achieve high standards of implementation and support across customer base.
2. Strong motivation to learn through on-the-job training and self-study, supported by scheduled classes, while exemplifying strong problem-solving skills.
3. Must be able to demonstrate planning, organizing, controlling, and implementing skills, which allow the proper prioritization and successful completion of tasks with limited guidance.
4. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to perform technical reviews for technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations and manage multiple tasks successfully.
6. Ability to work within a team environment to design, test, and implement the technical solution required to accomplish the statement of work within the designated project schedule.
7. Ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with customer technical resources as well as other team members, while adhering to SWC and customer standards for change control and support documentation.
8. A willingness to follow set standards while providing constructive feedback for improvement.
9. Excellent customer service skills in dealing with both external and internal customers.
10. Ability to train junior team members.
11. General understanding of network topologies and network protocols.
12. Understands Web server administration and configuration of applications.
13. Valid and current driver's license.



Additional Desirable Experience, Abilities, Certifications:

1. Microsoft Certifications.
2. Cisco Certifications: CCNA and above.
3. Experience in developing and maintaining Technical Documentation and Instructions.
4. SQL general experience.
5. ITIL Change management experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Server operating systems (Server 2012 and newer).
6. Experience with system migration planning and post-migration validation.


Travel and Work Location:

Some overnight travel will be required. Flexible work location including branch office, job sites and work from home when appropriate. The primary work location will be the assigned branch office.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:
1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
2. Some light lifting of objects is required.
3. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities are also required.
4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
5. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
