The Specialist, Multimedia Production serves as SHRM’s enterprise-wide audio and podcast production specialist primarily aiding in the execution and delivery of five flagship audio and video podcast for SHRM’s audiences, among other projects as are requested by SHRM stakeholders. This position executes SHRM’s podcast offerings by creating compelling content that serves and engages the SHRM community, meets the needs of the organization, and positions SHRM as a thought leader. A successful candidate will apply creative and technical ability and work closely with Multimedia and Content stakeholders to coordinate, record, produce, edit, and publish our flagship vodcast content. This role is not an entry level position and requires some professional experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate scheduling for podcast recordings for podcast products across stakeholder teams and hosts.
Produce podcast episodes through our recording platforms following SHRM flagship podcast guidelines.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders and external contractors to ensure vodcast quality across all five flagship vodcasts.
Record and edit video and audio versions of flagship podcasts, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage, color correction/grading, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sound effects, media management, cleaning and audio sweeting audio files, and ability to provide closed captioning.
Manage podcast digital library
Update and manage recording platforms for online recordings, including logins, passwords, updates, and coordination.
Manage technical arrangements for live events, including tests, teleconference coordination, and onsite production for production of podcasts on site at conferences and other events.
Troubleshoot and fix technical issues before/during/after live events.
Set up and operate audiovisual equipment in the field, digital, and the on-site podcast studio, including microphones, audio mixer, teleprompter, etc.
Edit vodcasts via Descript, Adobe, and other platforms for any in-person recordings, often with 3-4 cameras and audio matching.
Work independently or as part of a team to establish and complete project deliverables.
Assist the Lead, Multimedia Production in setting up production guidelines/workflows with the goal of growing audience engagement and response through better project processes and product.
Assist with other Multimedia video and audio project for various stakeholders and events.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in podcast or audio production, recording arts, broadcasting, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
At least five (3+) years of progressive digital production experience, including branding, strategy, and execution.
Demonstrated experience in podcast production and audio management.
Demonstrated experience in live production and executing video projects of all sizes from concept to completion.
Video production and editing experience helpful. Candidates with this additional experience will be given preference.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in audio engineering in both studio and field environments.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, and Adobe After Effects; comfort with Adobe Creative Suite generally. Experience using a range of digital content management systems and video platforms.
Deep familiarity and strong desire to keep up with audio, podcast, and video industry trends and technologies.
Problem-solver and able to resolve production issues quickly as they may occur.
Creative, design-thinker with excellent interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once and deftly communicating and escalating issues as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of project management software/tools.
Some proficiency in Digital Cinema, Mirrorless Cameras (Sony Family, FX3), and PTZ camera operation is ideal. Also proficiency in video & digital production workflow as well as understanding video codecs, frame rates, and color spaces.

Work environment
Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.
This job requires moderate travel: 20-30%.

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $82,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
