The Role:



ModernaTX, Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer, SAP for its Cambridge, Massachusetts location.



Here's What You'll Do:



  • On behalf of a global biotechnology company, act as the system expert for all finance-related configurations, and lead functional and technical configurations and development within an SAP S/4 HANA.


  • Deliver SAP S/4 strategic solutions in Finance accounting operations, corporate accounting, accounts payable, indirect tax, travel and expense management, Cash clearing, Intercompany business, and Fixed asset accounting. Apply a deep understanding of SAP finance master data objects.


  • Roll-out SAP best practices and SAP delivered standard Fiori Apps and reports.
    Provide application support for the current and post go-live digital finance landscape as a subject matter expert.


  • Develop, lead and deploy small and medium-size continuous improvement projects within financial systems.


  • Write functional and technical specifications with ability to propose BAPI, BADI's, user exit, and function modules to developers.


  • Create and provide support for SAP and non-SAP financial reporting.


  • Apply expertise in developing financial reporting using SAP tools such as ABAP queries and working with developers in proposing backend data extraction from SAP and disparate systems.


  • Provide leadership and architectural knowledge within large cross functional projects.


  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and internal digital teams to design, develop and implement solutions with integration to non-Finance SAP modules such as Material management, Production planning, and Sales and distribution.


  • Help shape the strategy for an integrated landscape of financial systems, and highlight potential risks and act proactively to resolve issues.


  • Participate in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases relating to new systems or potential system changes.


  • May telecommute 30% of the time.





Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:



  • Minimum requirements: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field and eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the role offered, as SAP Finance Principal Engineer, SAP Finance Lead, SAP Business Analyst, or related position.


  • Demonstrated experience must include:


    • 8 years working with SAP ECC or S/4 HANA ERP platform FICO module;


    • Financial accounting experience and knowledge with Finance accounting operation, corporate accounting, general accounting, cash clearing, intercompany business, fixed asset accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, different currency operation, FX revaluation, share service center process, statutory reporting, overhead accounting, revenue recognition, bank reconciliation, and treasury.


    • Functional SAP expertise in general accounting, cash clearing, intercompany business, fixed asset accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost center accounting, intercompany reconciliation, profit center accounting, internal orders, profitability analysis, Project systems, Treasury, and period-end close.


    • Utilizing SAP General Ledger, SAP Accounts Payable, SAP Accounts Receivable, SAP Banking, SAP vendor invoice verification, SAP Cost Center Accounting, and SAP Fixed Asset Accounting function module.


    • Enterprise resource planning for financial system configuration to support various finance activities including General accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Fixed asset Tax, Costing, and Month-End Reporting.


    • Leveraging Vertex(Tax Engine system) for Indirect Tax Setup to ensure compliance and tax determination;


    • Using XML file interface for Banking.




  • May telecommute 30% of the time.


  • Position requires up to 5% domestic and/or international travel, fully reimbursed.
