Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Labor, Reemployment Services Division, has a great opportunity to serve as the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Program Coordinator. The JVSG Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring Federal and State program compliance and requires research of Federal and State laws, regulations, rules, and policies.

Examples of Work
• Conducts quality assurance audits of program services provided to Nebraska's veterans statewide.
• Provides virtual and in-person trainings throughout Nebraska and technical assistance on a monthly and quarterly basis to the local area office teammates providing services under the provision of JVSG.
• Responsible for the oversight of grant performance and service delivery in Nebraska.
• Serves as the Department of Labor's liaison for veteran services and collaborates with other state agencies and stakeholders to ensure efficient, effective, and high quality services are provided to veterans in Nebraska.
• In-state travel required and out-of-state travel is limited.
Location: 550 South 16th Street, Lincoln, NE
Schedule: 8am-5pm; Monday-Friday
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in human services, behavioral sciences, social sciences, public administration, business administration or closely related field AND three years experience in an employment, job development, or job training agency/program with responsibility for planning and coordinating program operations, or monitoring and evaluating delivery of program services. Related experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services, behavioral sciences, social sciences, public administration, business administration or closely related field AND three years' experience in a position with responsibility for planning and coordinating program operations, or monitoring and evaluation of program delivery of program services; prior experience implementing or administrating workforce development programs or other Federal government authorized programs. Experience with techical writing.
Other: APPLICANTS MUST BE A VETERAN OF MILITARY SERVICE. Preference will be given in this order: 1) Qualified service-connected disabled Veteran; 2) Qualified eligible Veteran. Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Principles and techniques to develop statewide and local policy; State and federal statutes affecting the employability status of the unemployed; methods of program and financial administration including planning and evaluation techniques; available labor, employment, and economic development resource materials.
Skilled in: Presenting both virtual and in-person presentations; attention to detail; reporting and analysis.
Ability to: Communicate with government officials, program representatives, and service providers to explain and advocate program goals, policies, and plans; provide technical assistance and training for program staff upon request; interact with state and federal program representatives and private industry representatives to establish consensus on service needs; research, interpret and apply federal and State program laws and policies; adhere to agency policies; develop goals, priorities, plans, policies and performance criteria.
