Gaven Industries in Saxonburg, PA is seeking a Head of Technical Sales & Business Development. In this position, you are responsible for identifying and approaching potential Clients, developing strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and selling technical, often complex, products or services. This role requires effective communication skills and interaction with the Client, ranging from highly technical to administrative knowledge (non-technical), to translate and explain highly complex technical information, focusing on revealing how a Gaven shielded product or piece of equipment will address their design criteria, or solve their specific implementation challenges.
You will work closely with other departments to ensure our products meet the needs of our customers and align with our company's overall objectives. This role requires a creative problem solver, able to think strategically and act tactically. Our ideal candidate has a solid technical background combined with exceptional sales skills. Ultimately, this role is to increase our customer base and contribute to our long-term business development and growth.
Job Responsibilities:
Identifying and establishing new business opportunities
Organizing and attending sales and business development opportunities
Develop a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for the development and launch of shielded products
Identify customer needs, analyze market trends, and develop customer insights into new products and product enhancements
Represent the company at industry events and conferences
Develop pricing and positioning strategies for the shielded product portfolio
Negotiating contracts, terms and conditions
Meeting regular sales targets and coordinating sales projects
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry experts, and partners
Proactively provide technical advice to Customers (Consultative Selling) on all aspects of Gaven shielded products and services before, during, and after the sale
Working with the Team to develop new sales and marketing opportunities and strategies
Support the creation of detailed proposal documents and presenting them to Clients
Recording and maintaining client contact data and sales activity records via Salesforce
Actively track, analyze and provide feedback to the Team regarding product performance, customer feedback, market competitors, and their products
Manage the day-to-day operations of the sales and business development Team, as assigned
Lead cross-functional teams to develop product requirements and deliverables
Assist Program Managers with the development of product budgets and timelines to support timely product delivery on schedule and within budget

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proven work experience and track record as a Technical Sales and/or Business Development professional
Excellent knowledge of technical products, trends, product life cycles, pricing, market analysis, and competitive analysis
Ability to develop product roadmaps and market strategies
Ability to accurately define product requirements and deliverables
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
Experience in leading product design and development is a plus
Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
Ability to interface with Customers and internal stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant field
Supervisory Responsibility:
Manage sales and business development team, as assigned.
