Overview

John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing financial insights, analysis, and strategic support to our regional operations. This position requires a deep understanding of financial principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. The analyst will be responsible for the annual operating plan process, assist in the monthly forecasting process, and prepare the monthly financial reporting package for Corporate Finance.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and prepare detailed reports to support regional business units. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the regional budgeting and forecasting processes. Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop accurate and achievable financial plans. Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts and provide variance analysis.
  • Strategic Planning: Support regional strategic planning initiatives by providing financial modeling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment. Assist in the evaluation of investment opportunities and strategic projects.
  • Performance Management: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial health and operational efficiency of regional business units. Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and supply chain, to provide financial support and drive business performance. Act as a financial advisor to regional leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in functional work, reporting, and standard operating procedures, including Tableau Reporting and Forecasting Tools. Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Month-end Close: Work with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by assisting in month-end close and identifying variances from expectations and trends.
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Perform ad-hoc finance projects/requests to facilitate strategic and tactical decision making across various departments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, preferably in a regional or corporate setting. Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is a plus. 3 years’ experience in accounting/finance functions, such as FP&A is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is required. Proficiency with Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Working Conditions

  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to support regional business units.
  • Work Environment: This position is based in an office environment with standard working hours. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines and support business needs.
