The Quality and Food Safety Coordinator provides deep technical leadership to develop, maintain and proactively improve Royal Canin - Lewisburg Sites 'Quality and Food Safety programs. Under the supervision of the Site Q&FS Manager, this role provides technical expertise, consultancy, and a practical food safety approach to the site manufacturing operations. This role makes complex risk-based food safety decisions that enable the reliable delivery of products that meet all external legislative requirements and all internal Q&FS standards. The job involves ISO 9001/FSSC22000 administration; training, auditing, problem solving and assuring corrective actions are properly implemented. The position promotes product safety and general product quality awareness acting as a liaison between manufacturing sites.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Dairy, Grain Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agriculture, Agronomy or Genetics.
3+ years in food manufacturing industry, or equivalent experience in Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Chemical Engineering or Product/Process Development.
Experience with regulatory and 3rd party audit requirements.
4+ yearsexperience in manufacturing site, managing quality and food safety systems (i.e. FSSC22000, SQF, BRC, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Dairy Science, Food Safety, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Meat Science, Agriculture, Agronomy or Genetics.
Advanced understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
Green Belt Certification.
HACCP Certification and Better Process School certification.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Lead the Quality Management System on site.
Manage regulatory, USDA/ FDA inspections, & corrective actions.
Develop and deliver Quality and Food Safety training when required.
Leads the effective development and implementation of standards, processes, new technology/methods and drives continuous improvement of food safety management at the manufacturing site.
Acts as Food Safety Coordinator, providing governance to Quality management system, HACCP Food Safety plans and managing validations of CCP and OPRP preventive controls.
Acts as a technical resource for interpretation and ongoing application of food safety standards and regulations, as they relate to manufacturing operations, including but not limited to the Global Microbiological Verification , Foreign Material Management, Mold and Mycotoxin, HACCP and Food Defense and Fraud Standards.
