Princeton University Library (PUL) seeks an energetic and experienced individual for the Access and Fulfillment Services unit in the Content Access (CA) Department. Reporting directly to the Deputy Assistant Director, Access and Fulfillment Services, the Manager, Circulation Services manages all activities in the daily operation of the Firestone Circulation Services Unit and coordinates circulation functions across PUL. The successful candidate will manage a team of 2 administrative staff, 5 support staff, and 20 student assistants, working with the Deputy Assistant Director and other members of the Content Access Department to develop circulation policies, procedures, and training for circulation staff in all PUL libraries, maintain responsibility for creating and updating confidential patron records, and provides leadership in implementing and updating relevant systems.

Responsibilities
The Manager, Circulation Services will:
Provide leadership and direction for all aspects of circulation services at Princeton University Library, directly managing operations at Firestone Library and coordinating services across the branch libraries, facilitating the loan of onsite and offsite Princeton library materials as well as items borrowed from partner institutions.
Develop circulation policies, procedures, and training for circulation staff in all PUL libraries, maintain responsibility for creating and updating confidential patron records, and provide leadership in implementing and updating relevant systems.
Provide oversight and maintenance of Alma Fulfillment/Circulation, managing patron notices, assigning privileges for staff, coordinating testing and reporting of new releases, troubleshooting circulation issues, creating and updating circulation calendars for Firestone and branch libraries, and implementing changes to system as necessary.
Participate in PUL library committees and working groups, liaises with Princeton University departments as appropriate, and represents Princeton University in regional, national, and international professional and scholarly organizations.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
A minimum of five years relevant professional experience in an academic or research library, or the equivalent, which must include a minimum of three years of supervisory and management experience.
Deep understanding and work experience of circulation, collection management and/or resource sharing services of a large academic library with multiple branches.

Well-developed computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
MLS from an ALA accredited institution
Demonstrated successful experience working with cataloging/acquisitions/inventory management in an academic research library (e.g. experience with shelf ready materials or copy cataloging).
Successful experience working with vendors and various library service providers (e.g. binders, material suppliers).
Demonstrated ability to assess, develop and implement new workflow efficiencies.
Demonstrated understanding of the mission and functions of a large research library.
Experience working successfully in a complex organizational structure.
Experience of library access service with a large offsite storage facility.
Knowledge/work experience of digitization of many types of library materials.
Active participation in relevant regional/national professional organizations and forums.
