Description: Our client is currently seeking an Engineer Principal
Job Title: Engineer Principal
Location: 100% Onsite
Compensation:
No overtime unless prior approval for special cases.
Per Diem: Per GSA rates for the first 90 days, then $150.
Mob and de-mob: Airfare and receipts or mileage and receipts. No rental car reimbursement. No reimbursed flights except for mob/de-mob.
Security Clearance: Applicant must pass a background investigation with heightened security clearance.
Job Summary: Provide technical leadership and accountability in ensuring the technical adequacy and appropriateness of all engineering activities within the area of discipline responsibility. Serve as a strong technical resource for solving complex engineering problems and ensure compliance with design bases requirements and proper application of engineering methods in design and analysis.
Principal Accountabilities:
Perform complex engineering analyses and designs in support of operations, systems, programs, audit inspections, and assessments.
Serve as an advisor on assignments with specialized or unique engineering requirements.
Provide technical leadership and training on complex projects.
Identify and develop new policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet strategic objectives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry guidance.
Identify potential problems in design, quality, or operation and initiate corrective actions.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering and eight years of engineering experience, plus one diverse assignment; OR high school diploma/GED and PE license with eight years of engineering experience and one diverse assignment.
Knowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories.
Advanced technical knowledge of related disciplines.
Maintain current knowledge of industry developments and applications.

Nuclear Design Change Process
50.59 Licensing Process
Nuclear Digital Design Process
Experience in SEL relay selection, design, programming, and testing
Experience in medium 4kV switchgear replacement
Security Clearance Requirements:
Unescorted Access (Green badge 1 or 2)
Background investigation, fitness for duty screening, criminal history check, psychological evaluation, credit report review, and computer-based training.
Subject to periodic reinvestigation.
Desired Education and Experience:
Two diverse assignments preferred.
SRO or Plant Certification desirable.
PE license preferred.
Experience with Medium Voltage switchgear, 4kV electrical bus structures, advanced relay and protection.
Experience in Nuclear design process.
Required Abilities and Skills:
Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolding, and wear required safety gear.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership.
Ability to work independently.

Represent Engineering in industry working groups and other discipline-related activities.
Act as Responsible Engineer over engineering changes.
