The Sr. Inventory Coordinator role is an on-site/office position that is responsible for managing the Spinal inventory dedicated to the specified sales area. This position will be responsible for tracking inventory and logistically securing the inventory for spine cases at hospitals and surgery centers in the local area surrounding the office. The Sr. Inventory Coordinator works closely with local sales managers and sales reps in managing the assigned inventory and ensuring top utilization of the systems. This role acts as an "air traffic controller", dictating where the inventory needs to be going, utilizing local Medtronic drivers, couriers and other logistics services to cover surgical needs. This position will be responsible for understanding current IT systems (Excel, SAP, PowerBi and others) to manage, track and analyze performance of assigned inventory.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Requires knowledge of company products, company functions, marketing and/or service policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining records and reporting for regional office

  • Updates local Sales Team of corporate announcements and important information

  • Requires knowledge of company inventory and field inventory logistics procedures

  • Responsible for tracking shared inventory (surgical sets) assigned to regional office

  • Ensure reconciliation, coordination and closure for periodic counts of set inventory

  • Maintain master schedule for use of inventory assigned to regional office

  • Responsible for locating inventory within assigned region (or outside) to support local case demand

  • Maintain regional office inventory to ensure all components are available for cases

  • Replenish sets with needed implants and instruments

  • Coordinates set delivery via FIA (Field Inventory Associate) or courier services

  • Provide assistance and support to DSM's (District Sales Managers) and Sales Associates

  • Maintains Office supplies

  • Process incoming and outgoing shipments

  • Coordination of target setting to ensure maximum performance of shared inventory

  • Liaison between field inventory logistics team and sales team

  • Site leader/office manager of regional office

  • Coordination of new set build deployments with inventory support team

  • Proactively reports progress of office to identify successes and improvements

  • Interacts with peers, employees, upper management and others on a frequent basis

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have


  • SAP and/or production planning / order management software experience

  • Medical device inventory management, materials management, and/or supply chain management experience

  • Logistics and shipment coordination experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$83,200.00 - $124,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
