Overview

The Distribuion Team Lead position at Cook Medical provides leadership and daily oversight in their area within AMER Distribution Center. The role is responsible for developing employees within their team to ensure the highest level of service.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight.
• Establish priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist with managing multiple people, tasks, and priorities through strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Analyze, develop, improve, and support efficient, flexible, and scalable processes.
• Suggest process improvements, both internal and external, and elevate concerns with system inconsistencies to upper management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the AMER Delivery Center to ensure efficient processes throughout
• Review and balance the workload among resources
• Promote communication between the AMER Distribution Center team and management
• Interface with internal and external customers in a professional manner regarding any issues, as needed
• Review and document employee performance and identify and institute development opportunities
• Provide timely feedback consistently among all employees
• Conduct interviews with potential new employees, ensure new hire orientation and training are completed and compliant
• Process and approve department time sheets and coordinate team member schedules to balance the workload among resources to meet same day shipping
• Ensure all quality key processes are being monitored and reported to upper management
• Provide leadership and direction concerning employee relations
• Collaborate with other Team Lead to cross train employees across all areas of the AMER Distribution Center
• Foster and maintain a workplace culture respectful and supportive of individual differences
• Utilize problem solving and resources available to address issues as they arise
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, trainings, and effective meetings
• Ability to solve problems, multi-task, work under tight timelines, and learn new concepts quickly
• Experience in change management, business process management and improvement, or related work

Qualifications

• Associates degree required or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background
• 2-5 years previous warehouse experience required
• 2-5 years leadership experience required
• Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is preferred
• Knowledge of Quality Systems Management preferred
• Knowledge in export compliance and transportation is preferred
• Experience with reporting and data analysis preferred

Physical requirements:

• Requires some early morning or late evening meetings
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers and equipment
• Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is moderate to occasionally loud
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves and/or carries boxes up to 50 pounds
• Good eyesight to recognize product descriptions
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, carry, feel or touch; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch up to 8 hours daily
• Occasionally required to bend, stoop, push, pull, twist in a repetitive motion throughout daily responsibilities
