The Shipping & Receiving Material Hander is responsible for the movement and reporting of steel and steel products/by-products throughout the facility. This individual operates a variety of powered lift trucks and cranes.

$21/hr.

1st - Monday through Friday 6am to 2pm


  • Operates forklift truck to move the materials to the storage area and stock loaded skids
  • Fills orders from warehouse stock
  • Prepares and packs heavy and fragile parts for shipment in standard boxes or other containers from specified standards
  • Selects packing material for protection of product
  • Checks against packing list for inclusion
  • Applies special labels or stencils as necessary
  • Maintains safe practices and housekeeping rules
  • Performs a variety of operations within the department to maintain the flow of work
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications


  • Valid forklift truck license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands


  • Work environment requires constant alertness of safety requirements and dangers.
  • It is climate controlled by weather due to outside exposure while handling scrap functions or transporting between buildings.
  • Forklifts are frequently in the area. Some areas may be noisy and/or dirty.
  • Must be able to lift and move parts which can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Managing and manipulating steel banders.
  • Good hand/eye coordination for use of forklifts and cranes.
  • Bending during packaging operations.
