General Description:
This position's purpose is to support The United States Coast Guard's Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I) Service Center (C5ISC) enterprise and solution architecture development efforts in data modeling and analysis.
This mid-level position is a part of a contract support team for the Coast Guard (CG) Enterprise Architecture program. C5ISC develops and supports the USCG's C5I products and services that end users use at Coast Guard shoreside command and control units, cutters, and small boats throughout the United States and in select international locations. Sponsors at Coast Guard Headquarters provide high-level Operational and Functional requirements to C5ISC for developing new solutions or major improvements/upgrades to existing systems. The architect will facilitate the capture, definition, and analysis of data used as a part of operational and functional requirements to support the C5ISC leadership and engineers with architecture development to specify requirements to guide system engineering, integration, and modernization efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of demonstrated data modeling experience. Experience with formal data modeling notations (e.g., UML, ERD, IDEF1X). Experience using the data concepts expressed within the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF). Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent Information Technology discipline.
Experience/Skills:
Strong team and collaboration skills. Ability to work as a team and take direction from senior architects. Demonstrate ability to deliver under tight timelines. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of:
