JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the provision of athletic training and sports medicine with key stakeholders in their respective school’s organization.
Assists in the assessment of the sports medicine department's effectiveness, utilization of personnel and supplies. Assists with continuous analysis, evaluation and auditing of the sports medicine department.
Assists in the development and advancement of the current sports medicine program with a focus on service line development.
Works with the Sports Medicine team to develop relationships in the market area that promote sports medicine and rehabilitation. Acts as a liaison with other local sports medicine and athletic training programs.
Performs routine and complex athletic training tasks including tasks of moderate to high complexity before, during and after athletic events. Ensures best practices and uniformity across the sports medicine continuum.
Performs routine and complex assigned tasks in additional areas of the rehabilitation and sports medicine departments, including tasks of moderate to high complexity. Promotes and advances the sports medicine department's relationship with the hospital and the community it serves.
Provides appropriate services to meet the needs of the department's customers as requested including, but not limited to, effective and consistent communication and the documentation of accurate and timely information.
Maintains sports medicine equipment and areas including scheduled preventative maintenance and other necessary quality controls according to guidelines.
Participates in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance activities as determined by the hospital including hospital operations improvement.
Works with the Sports Medicine team to perform quality control/customer satisfaction procedures, documents results, and investigates and resolves issues with appropriate supervisory notification of activity.
Assists in the evaluation of current practices and makes appropriate suggestions to improve productivity and enhance expense reduction; assists in the evaluation of new procedures, equipment; monitors the purchasing of supplies and inventory control.
Provides technical guidance for customers as it relates to athletic training procedures and operations.
Attends assigned meetings inside and outside of the hospital as designated. Participates in professional activities and continuing education to maintain professional expertise.
Clearly communicates and continuously supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.
Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and hospital policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
Performs additional duties as required which relate to the function of the hospital.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Must have current Indiana license as an Athletic Trainer and have NATABOC certification. Bachelor's Degree in athletic training or an athletic training field such as exercise science or exercise physiology required. Clinical experience in high school athletic training setting preferred. Current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification required.
