Position: Cloudera/Azure System Administrator

Location: Alexandria, VA

Work Environment: Hybrid

Knowesis seeks a highly skilled and motivated Cloudera/Azure System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team, supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Inspector General (OIG).

The ideal candidate will design, build, manage, and maintain our Cloudera and Azure environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, big data technologies, and system administration.

This position requires a Secret Clearance and applicants must possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and Maintain Cloudera and Azure Environments:
  
  
  
  • Install, configure, and manage Cloudera clusters and Azure resources.
  
  
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations.
  
  
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of systems.
  
  
  
  


• Security and Compliance:
  
  
  
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for Cloudera and Azure environments.
  
  
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  
  
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  
  
  
  


• Automation and Scripting:
  
  
  
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for system management tasks.
  
  
  • Utilize tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell for automation.
  
  
  
  


• Collaboration and Support:
  
  
  
  • Work closely with development, data engineering, and operations teams to support their needs.
  
  
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
  
  
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in system administration with Cloudera and Azure.


• Proven experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark) and Azure services (VMs, Storage, Networking).


• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration.
  
   


• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.


• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Cloudera Certified Administrator (CCA) or equivalent.


• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent.
