The Learning Disability Post Bac assists Occidental College's Disability Services Office in providing individualized support to students with learning concerns and academic difficulties.
Job Duties
45% - Conduct assessments to identify learning disabilities and academic challenges. Develop personalized academic plans to address specific student needs. Provide one-on-one coaching and support sessions. Monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as necessary. Maintain detailed records of student interactions and progress. - (Essential)
25% - Facilitate workshops and training sessions on learning strategies and resources. - (Essential)
15% - Assist students in obtaining and utilizing campus resources (Emmons Wellness Center, Disability Services, Dean of Students Office, etc.) - (Essential)
15% - Attend bi-weekly 1:1 meetings with supervisor and monthly team meetings. - (Essential)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in liberal arts or other related fields to the position responsibilities. Enrollment in a Special Education or related graduate program.
Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Teaching or tutoring experience in a one-on-one or group setting.
Working knowledge of the symptoms and needs of students with various learning and/or psychological disabilities.
Working knowledge of Section 504 and ADA policies. Ability to analyze, synthesize and organize data, and present findings in a comprehensible manner for different audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google drives/folders/forms, Adobe Acrobat, Web Editing, and social media applications or any combination of productivity programs applicable to position responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, counseling or related fields. Some experience working with individuals experiencing learning disabilities.
