Responsibilities:

In support of Combat Support Systems, we are seeking a Technical Writer that will be supporting multiple Acquisition Categories (ACATs) and Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAPs). The Technical Writer shall support the program in all stages of product lifecycle management events; research and development; familiarization with acquisition policies and interfacing with government principles.
The specific responsibilities and tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Ability to work independently for various tasks
• Provide Technical Manual drafting support and software requirements.
• Produce or convert documents in/to .XML format in the following areas ensuring compliance with the performance standards by surveillance of the Contractor’s performance and deliverables.
• Develop, review, update, and submit hyperlinked technical manuals in .XML format and stay within doctrine and compliance with current Marine Corps, Navy, and Joint regulations.
• Provide and develop high quality graphics and/or photographs for inclusion in the technical manual.
• Support Technical Manual reviews and verification events and incorporate/adjudicate comments from the team and FMF.
• Established formats, delivered on time to support decision points where applicable.
• Provide recommendations based on program input in response to reporting requirements and PM reviews.
• Monitor, review, analyze and update spreadsheets to PM format.
• Utilize experience with customer related regulations and support the creation and/or revision of regulatory and policy documentation requirements
• Collaborate with developers, process owners, financial SMEs and Government leads to capture the scope and direction of end-user documentation.
• Provide editorial and quality assurance support for documents, functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, reports, training materials, and other customer deliverables.
• Support and participate in formal and informal reviews throughout the development cycle
• Develop and provide point papers, presentations, and reports regarding the research, analyses and document builds
Education/Experience:
Specific/Preferred Requirements:
• Eight years of related progressive professional work experience with Technical Writing with Life-Cycle Logistics planning and management with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in at least two directly related technological areas, including experience in all phases of technical writing supporting logistics acquisition and logistics planning
• Excellent written/oral communication skills required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to perform detail-oriented work under strict deadlines
