Job Responsibilities

To safety operate folder gluers and to perform a variety of duties including set-ups, adjustments and minor maintenance to produce a product that meets all quality specifications.

  • Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback on improving departmental processes, performance goals and environment.
  • Set-up and operate folder gluers. Monitor product quality and machine performance to ensure product specifications and production efficiencies are met.
  • Report production results including rejects and downtime.
  • Complete required documents as needed for each production run.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed.
  • Direct team including temporary employees as needed.
  • Provide training for other Operators, Helpers and other team members as required.
  • Notify Facilitator, Superintendent, or designate as needed of job changes, work and material variances in a timely manner to optimize machine performance and to prevent short orders and/or over runs.
  • Other related and similar duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
  • Understand verbal and written instructions. Able to effectively communicate with team.
  • Abide by all safety policies, procedures, rules and guidelines in order to prevent and reduce exposure to accidents and injuries.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Physical presence at designated worksite, work a 40-hour schedule, maintain consistent and acceptable attendance and work overtime as required, including weekend and holiday work based on business demands.
  • Pay close attention to detail and follow instructions and procedures to meet quality standards.
  • Work in a team environment by assisting in training and facilitating job duties for other team members (including temps). Demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Successfully complete and pass required Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training and test and obtain and maintain appropriate PIV licensing.
  • Use Radio Frequency (RF) units.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and leadership characteristics. Able to prioritize and to pace work with output of production.
  • Pay close attention to detail and follow instructions and procedures to meet quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

Perform repetitive tasks as required.

Perform pre-shift stretching (includes: bending, reaching and stretching with hands, arm, legs and feet and bending and twisting waist) as required for position.
