We have an excellent employment opportunity for a Loan Officer/Loan Officer Trainee in our Commercial Loan Group. The candidate will be responsible for:
serves present and prospective large and complex loan customers with sound short, intermediate and long-term agricultural credit according to policies, standards, and procedures
promotes related services to all current and prospective members
develops and markets constructive credit and financial service packages to current and potential customers
manages all assigned existing loans within delegated authority
service area will include primarily the southern Virginia portion of Colonial Farm Credit's territory (including, but not limited to, Amelia, Amherst, Appomattox, Brunswick, Campbell, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greensville, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Southampton, Surry, and Sussex)
represents the Association at local and regional events and meetings
works in a team structure at the direction of the Chief Lending Officer-Commercial Loans to ensure customer / prospects needs are met or exceeded
Education and Experience:
Required:
Bachelors degree in agriculture, business administration, finance, or economics
Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions
In-depth knowledge and skills in loan administration, loan servicing, and collateral valuation
Awareness of current economic developments and production technology affecting agriculture in the region
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and work independently
Demonstrated ability in business development and marketing
Travel to/from prospective and current customers as well as industry functions
Strong analytical, judgment, and communication (oral and written) skills
Problem solving skills
Strong sales and negotiating skills
Computer experience with intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Acceptable background reports (credit, criminal, driving, and drug testing)
Preferred (and beneficial to successful applicant):
Minimum of three years of agricultural lending or equivalent experience

(negotiable; any Association office within close proximity to successful candidate's residence and based on space availability within other offices)
