We are looking for an Appraiser to work in any of the following branches: Tifton, Moultrie, or Quitman.
The primary responsibility of the Appraiser is to applies the current methods and techniques of real property valuation. Perform real estate and chattel appraisals. Provide an unbiased determination of value for security analysis for current collateral and potential loan collateral for the association. Collect and analyze support data. Assist other members of the appraisal department in the coordination of the association's appraisal program.
What you will do in this role:
Makes field inspections and appraisals of all types of property offered as security for loans including nonaccrual loans and acquired property. Solicits and makes fee appraisals for eligible clients as workload permits.
Develops, analyzes, and updates supporting information used in the appraisal process. Details and documents the information of the property which was derived from a field inspection. Selects, correlates, and applies proper appraisal method. Exercises sound judgment in the formation and conclusions of values. Completes proper appraisal report in its entirety.
Analyze and record in AgGeorgia's Sales database annually a minimum of 50 real estate sales.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include specific projects or assist the Chief Appraiser as needed
Maintains license and expertise in real estate appraisal by networking, reading trade journals, attending conferences and fulfilling educational requirements of a licensed appraiser.
What we will need for this role:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience
Successfully obtain and maintain a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser's license(s) in assigned state(s)
Knowledge of area land value trends, forestry practices and production agriculture
Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serve the best interest of the borrower and the Association.
Travel via auto to carry out essential responsibilities of the job
Ability to work independently and as a team member under minimal supervision
Excellent computer skills
Contributes to building and maintaining a positive team atmosphere
Focus on problem solving skills with solutions-driven results

Knowledge of Farm Credit Association policies and procedures
Current awareness of economic developments and production technology affecting agriculture in the region
Appraisal experience or tenure equivalent to 3 years
