The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for aSenior Catering Sales Managerto join the leadership team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms ( to include cottages and villas ), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
At least two years of previous hotel sales experience at manager level.
Experience in supervision or management of 1-3 people.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)
Experience selling large, luxury resorts to social and corporate organizations.
Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)

What will I be doing?
As a Senior Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the development of market segment(s) and solicitation of new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships with corporate and social accounts while consistently striving to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of services, prices.
Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
Responsible for representing the hotel through conducting conferences, making proposals and other external sales presentations to groups and prospective customers to solicit, explain, negotiate and close group and local catering business.
Meets daily with and entertains customers, conducts property tours, participates in tradeshows, industry and community events to promote facilities and services and close deals. Has discretion and authority to negotiate contracts and commit company with customers and set establish agreements with vendors.
Manages all aspects of the customer relationship including drafting proposals and contracts, responding to customer inquiries, as well as organizing all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events such as set-up and execution of social and corporate meetings, meals and special events.
Directs and supervises meeting and/or cateringlogistics to catering and event services managers and other affected departments andteam members responsible for event execution.
Provides guidance to Catering Managers to help ensure events are executed as planned.
Creative design of menus and events to maximize revenue and event experience.
Coordinates with Dir. of Catering in formal planning for and execution of significant events at the hotel

Salary Range: The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
