Job Description



Fugro geophysical service line provides geophysical surveys designed to facilitate the identification of natural and man-made features on the seafloor and within the shallow subsurface. To this purpose, various geophysical technologies are employed, and their raw data processed through a series of techniques and algorithms to extract meaningful information about these features. Steps include data quality control, noise removal, filtering, and data enhancement. These processes aim to enhance the signal-to-noise ratio, improve resolution, and create interpretable images or models of the subsurface.


The Magnetometer Processing Specialist is responsible for acquiring and processing magnetometer data, with a specific focus on TVG processing. S Competent in utilizing processing software; able to sign-off on data quality, accept and reject data, and liaise confidently with client representatives in a professional manner. Ability to review tender requirements and propose magnetometer solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements. Ability to liaise effectively with Fugro processing support organizations such as GRC in India to ensure data quality and delivery timing meet project requirements.



Job Responsibilities

  • Assists senior colleagues by analyzing day-to-day post-processed office and field related geo-data on projects of medium complexity.

  • Being responsible for the completeness and quality of interpreted data, carrying out computations, compiling survey reports of complex projects.

  • Contributing to complex projects by bringing advanced expertise in the development and/or implementation of GIS applications and keeping up to date with latest revisions if applicable.

  • Analyzing and processing collected geo-data for delivery to clients.

  • Communicate with project personnel to include verbal and written reports regarding quality and quantity of processed geophysical data.

  • Ability to process acquired magnetometer data to meet or exceed project specifications, with consideration of project deliverable requirements and timelines.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problematic data and ensure timely communications with support mechanisms to minimize downtime and maintain project timelines.

  • Ability to speak with authority on magnetometer acquisition and processing topics.

  • Support software and tools necessary to facilitate processing and data management, to include scripted solutions utilizing languages like Python.

  • Ensure accordance to company standards, industry standards, QHSSE policy and local regulations

  • Capacity to understand fundamental survey principles and how they impact data processing.

  • Working knowledge of magnetometry applications in geophysics, particularly in the context of marine geophysical remote sensing technologies.




Job Requirements



  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel.

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in geophysics, geology,

  • or closely relative subject.

  • Have 2 years or more experience in data processing or interpreting geophysical data. Preferred experience includes processing or interpreting magnetometer data and a working knowledge of software such as Oasis Montage.

  • Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office).
