Description:
The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of acute psychiatric treatment and management. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include clinical supervision of rotating medical students, residents, and advanced practice learners. Participation in psyhciatry residency and medical student classroom teaching. May also include serving as an educational site director for residents, medical students, and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include evaluation, treatment, and management of patients on acute psychiatry services, including inpatient units, inpatient detox, crisis response center, and consultation/liaison. Participation in HUP Cedar quality improvement efforts and potential clinical leadership responsibilities for appropriate candidates. This position will have no mandatory call responsibilities but will have the option of compensated, voluntary call.
