Federal Work Study Student - Campus Recreation Assistant

The Intramural Department is seeking (3) Federal Work Study students at 20 hours each per week for the Fall 2024/Spring 2025 terms. Duties include:

• Assist in setting up equipment for activities


• Assist in the signing-in of participants and verifying eligibility


• Assist in examining playing surfaces and safety hazards


• Enforce intramural policies and procedures during contests


• Assist in storing equipment at the conclusion of activities


• Evening and weekend work as required

Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. Knowledge of intramural sports policies and rules. A desire to acquire knowledge of all intramural sports offered. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with peers. Required for work outdoors. Required to lift and move intramural equipment.

$11.00 per hour

This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/ background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment. Factors such as dates of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation and position applied for will be taken into account.
