Currently seeking a General Manager to oversee a facility located in the Lufkin, TX area. A successful General Manager will have a background working in an industrial, distribution, or manufacturing company and provide strong leadership, strategic direction, and a discipline of execution to facilitate fast-paced business growth in support of customer and shareholder objectives.
*This position is open due to a long-term General Manager retirement.
Overview
Reports directly to the owner of the company
Responsible for all aspects of the business, including operations, sales, purchasing, employees, and financial management
Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to achieve short-term and long-term objectives
Develop and implement plans to increase sales through increased market share, penetration of new markets, and differentiation
Financial acumen and ability to oversee a P/L statement, budget, and provide financial direction and month end oversight
Formulate action plans to maintain a competitive edge in the industry
Mechanically inclined, technical expertise and process knowledge
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices
Operations Management
Oversee and assist with project bids and pricing orders
Manage new inventory system, including pricing, quantities, and ensuring efficient inventory levels are maintained
Overall responsibility for optimization of the facility layout
Oversee all daily operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficient resource utilization
Participates in the development of capital expenditure requests
Guides operations towards continuous improvement (safe working environment, quality, customer issues, etc.)
Dispenses advice, guidance, direction and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and approvals
Financial Performance
Review financial reports and take corrective actions when necessary
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to make data-driven decisions
Implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability without compromising quality
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and develop a skilled team of professionals in various departments
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
Customer Focus
Maintain strong relationships with key customers and clients
Be available 24/7 to address customer needs and emergencies
Identify customer needs and ensure the company delivers high-quality products and services
Compliance and Safety
Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Promote a culture of safety and adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
