JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Credentialing and Privileging- Perform a detailed analysis of a medical staff applicant's profile (i.e. verify employment and education, residency, background check, etc..). Perform primary source verification as required for compliance. Complete provider reappointments. Communicate with medical staff applicants to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of applications. Coordinate and process temporary privilege requests in accordance with policy. Articulate and exercise expertise in presenting each credentialing file to the Credentials Committee on a monthly basis.
Data Integrity and Quality- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all provider application data. Ensure data quality and integrity when entering data into appropriate systems (i.e. Cactus, Verity). Perform scheduled audits of provider credential files.
Confidentiality- Respect patient/medical staff rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information. Review timeliness, accuracy, and security of information.
Regulatory/Compliance- Maintain current regulatory standards to be in compliance with all medical staff functions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist OR Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) CPCS or CPMSM certification or obtain within 3 years of hire
