The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is looking for an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, interpret findings, and treat patients with complex behavioral health and/or physical dysfunctions in an acute care setting. The patient population includes a caseload mix of adolescents and adults with complex behavioral health/psychosocial needs in which the provision of care is completed in both a one to one and group setting.
Provides quality patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patients' needs.
Evaluates and instructs patients in appropriate treatment plans to achieve treatment goals.
Participates in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommends opportunities for improvement in service quality.
Attends and participates in educational programs and provides educational experiences as assigned.
Demonstrates respect for all members of the University community while performing one's duties and in response to administrators, supervisors, coworkers, and customers.

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required
Entry level experience in acute care hospital setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Licenses/ Certifications:
Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required
Desirable Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in Occupational Therapy
Skilled in providing direct patient care within acute care or outpatient settings, with a focus on behavioral health/mental health populations.
Demonstrates leadership abilities.
Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team.
Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence.
