The Certified Nurse Technician (CNT) will work in the satellite clinic, the First Response Center, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and a Board-certified Nurse Practitioner. The CNT will be will be responsible for collecting and processing biological specimens for laboratory testing, taking vital signs, entering lab results and clinical notes in Electronic Health Record.
Daily Operations
Demonstrate clinical competence in assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and venipuncture.
Apply standard operating procedures in implementing therapies that restore health, minimize complications, and manage risk factors.
Participate in performance improvement, data collection, and program reports
Attend mandatory staff meetings and continuing education activities.
Required Skills
Phlebotomy skills
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
Knowledge of electronic chart documentation requirements and recording test results.
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and staff.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to operate computer and multi-function printer, office and telephone equipment.
Knowledge of commonly used computer software and excellent communication skills.
Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or health professions.
Must be a Certified Nurse Technician in the State of Tennessee.
Current provider in Basic Life Support (BLS).
At least one year of experience as a CNT.
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, Infection Control, safety hazards and precautions.
Participation in continuing education and training in Ryan White programs and CAREWare.
