POSITION SUMMARY
The Security Officer performs safety and security tours according to established Security Department Management Plans and Standard Operating Procedures. The Security Officer provides and preserves a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff at AtlantiCare campuses and facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School degree or equivalent.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: FEMA Certification: Incident Command System (IS) required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. CPI required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; once obtained kept current at all times.
IS 100 Introduction to Incident Command System
IS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
IS 700 National Incident Management System (NIMS)
IS 907 Active Shooter Training
IAHSS -- required within 12 months of hire or transfer
AtlantiCare Security Department Hazardous Materials Training required within 6 months of hire or transfer. BLS required effective 4/1/2021, existing incumbents with HSAED will be required to renew with BLS all new hires effective this same date are required to have BLS within 6 months of hire or transfer
EXPERIENCE: 1 year of security officer experience preferred, preferably within the healthcare environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Bilingual abilities preferred. Knowledge of PC's and related applications required. 1 year of AtlantiCare Security Officer experience preferred. Prior Healthcare service preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other security related applications/programs required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Exposure to all weather conditions during patrols and post. Moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling, continuous walking and standing.
