POSITION SUMMARY:
The Oncology Services Business Manager works collaboratively with the Oncology Services Leadership Team, Materials Management and all departments supported by Oncology Services. This position provides leadership for planning and administering business operations for all Oncology Services departments and has responsibility for oversight of the capital and operational budgets in conjunction with the leadership team.
The Oncology Services Business Manager has primary responsibility for supervising all aspects of Oncology Services information systems, including administrative functions for program applications and network maintenance. This position develops in conjunction with the Business Director and other leaders in Oncology Services, procedures and methodologies for revenue reporting, various daily documentation audits, supply/cost analysis and providing strategies for efficient delivery of high quality patient care. This position will develop, evaluate and maintain creative, progressive internal documentation and external reports to support the operational and strategic needs of the hospital.
This position is responsible in the ongoing review and analysis of volume trends, assessment of accurate charging mechanisms and projecting revenue. This position will also serve as the gatekeeper for sales and clinical representatives and new product access. The Manager works collaboratively with Management, Staff, Physicians and the Value Analysis Team in the evaluation, trials and conversation of supplies and equipment.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years finance related background required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: Proficient in understanding computer hardware, software and system procedures required. Knowledge of data base/systems, budgets, financial reporting, management principles and practices required. Has a current working knowledge of automated materials/or management systems, inventory control techniques and supply procurement/distribution methods mandatory.
Prior management/supervisory experience with broad financial accountability and continuous use of critical thinking skills preferred. Proficiency in Excel required, Clinical applications preferred at time of hire; incumbent within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires long periods of reading, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. This position requires eye and hearing strain at times. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

This position reports department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
