Maintenance Repair Technician
Location: Huntsville, AL
3rd shift: 6:30pm - 6:30am
Requirements:
The mechanic maintenance person will have a high school diploma, with at least 5 years general industrial maintenance experience.
The mechanic must be knowledgeable in all aspects of safety, health and environmental protection as related to the maintenance and operation of the plant.
Must participate and/or lead CI teams.
Must be able to safely lift at least 40 pounds.
Must pass the tow motor driving test.
Must be able to perform trouble shooting on equipment to help identify failure causes and appropriate preventative measures.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints and the installation/operating manuals.
Tasks:
Responsible for adherence to all plant safety rules and to all applicable Federal Regulations as set forth in the Occupational Safety and Health Act to prevent personal injury and equipment damage.
Responsible for installation and repair of equipment and facilities.
Responsible for performance of routine preventative maintenance, and recording the actions and findings. .
Responsible for general cleanliness of the workplace.
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the machinery and/or material handling equipment in a manner to prevent personal injury or equipment damage.
Responsible for various additional duties as directed by the departmental Supervisor.
Employees performing the duties of this position may be exposed to both the handling and/or moving of hazardous material and have been instructed in the proper safe handling/disposal procedures.
All employees are expected to:
Follow all safety, health, environmental protection, and housekeeping rules and policies in the performance of all duties, and direct the maintenance team to do the same.
Find root causes for equipment failure and implement the repair and improvements needed to prevent repeated failures.
Complete all paperwork and/or computer entry correctly and fully.
Clean the work areas after completion of the daily tasks and repairs.
Assist in the writing of work instructions, and follow the work instructions.
Ensures that the spare parts inventory is maintained.
Assists in the training of new maintenance employees and training manufacturing personnel in appropriate maintenance techniques.
Must be able to perform basic welding functions for steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Must be able to perform basic electrical repairs on 1PH and 3PH systems, along with reading basic wiring drawings.
