Basic Job Functions:



Vulcraft Alabama is seeking a leader for the position of Project Manager. The responsibilities of the Project Manager include but are not limited to establishing strong relationships with our customers and managing all post-sale activities with each assigned project, while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities also include reading and interpreting contract drawings, engineering documents, and production orders. This position requires maintaining the highest standards of service through professional, informative, and responsive communications (written and verbal) with our internal and external customers. Additional basic functions of this role include but are not limited to; Utilizing business acumen to make good decisions that are beneficial to both VAL and its customers, identify and communicate opportunities, problems or delays and offer cost-effective solutions. Work with the Detailing, Engineering, Production and Project Management team to proactively manage the production schedule by balancing the needs of VAL and its customers. Exemplify a "project-ownership" attitude in all aspects of the job. Proactively manage the activities of each assigned project. Travel to job sites and customer meetings as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all.




Minimum Qualifications:




  • High School Diploma, GED or higher
  • Must be willing to and have means to travel as needed
  • One or more years of experience in steel or relevant industry
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office




Preferred Qualifications:




  • VVG product knowledge and understanding of our processes
  • Project coordination or project management experience
  • Two or more years construction industry experience
  • Bilingual
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field
  • Willing to relocate to other Nucor locations for appropriate advancement opportunities if available.
