Nemours is seeking a Dental Clinical Supervisor, Surgical Specialties (Full-Time), to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Dental Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision and coordinates clinical department operations, dental, and with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Clinical Operations Director and Operations Manager. The Dental Clinical Supervisor leads clinical care teams and facilitates all aspects of patient care in collaboration with the care teams based on business needs. The Dental CS will collaborate with the Operations Manager and Surgical Specialties team and assume the responsibilities of the Manager in their absence.
The Dental Clinical Supervisor oversees daily department operations. Provides orientation for learners in the pediatric outpatient dental clinic within the hospital environment. The Dental CS provides direct supervision of clinical staff in the delivery of care in the dental clinical area and other surgical specialties, based on business needs. The Dental CS is accountable for a subset of clinical staff for performance review and professional development needs.
Clinical Judgment :
Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies clinical practice to meet individual patient and family needs
Collects and interprets complex patient flow data. Focuses on key elements of situation while sorting out extraneous detail and exercises clinical judgment based on an immediate grasp of the whole picture for the patient population
Collaborates with Dentists and the multidisciplinary teams to coordinate flow and adjusts resources to meet patient care demands
Create and monitor schedules of staff 4-5 weeks in advance and share with surgical services supervisors
Assign and monitor all patient calls, ensuring calls are getting answered/responded to in a timely manner and are handled by the appropriate department/team

Initiates cost-effective and appropriate quality care by:
Reviews and adjusts dental assistant, medical assistants and tech assignments of associates in collaboration with nursing and physician leadership to ensure adequate coverage in a cost-effective manner.
Leads scheduled team huddles, staff meetings and calls for other huddles as conditions in the clinics change. Ensures key performance metrics are shared.
Identifies issues on a shift and initiates actions to correct the problem and maintains open communication with unit leadership related to these.
Provides recommendations to improve workflows and efficiency.
Consistently shows empathy, sensitivity and insight and is able to intervene in stressful situations.
Contributes to a nurturing environment that is supportive of colleagues in less-than-optimal situations.
Anticipates and integrates cultural differences into patient and family care.
This position also includes all the essential functions of a registered nurse, transport nurse, or specialty nurse that this position supports

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum three (3) years of experience.
Active DE or multi-state RN license required.
American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
